Gmunden – Scharnstein (16 km)
Now you leave the Traunsee region. Follow the brown “Romantikstraße” signposts along B120 Federal Raod past St. Konrad to
Scharnstein. The ride to
Scharnstein leads across a hilly and colourful area. The view of Tote Gebirge Mountain Range shows you the way to one of the most idyllic hiking areas of Upper Austria. Just before one gets into the village of
Scharnstein one can already get a glimpse of the Scharnstein Castle Ruins. The footpath to the ruin leads through a forest and past a rock chapel. Schloss Scharnstein Castle is located in the village centre.
